Our Policies

Lodge and Game Reserve Safety and Liability Policy:

 

  1. Safety: Madikelo Lodge is committed to providing a safe environment for its guests. Guests are required to follow all safety rules and guidelines,. The reserve is not responsible for any accidents that occur as a result of the guest's negligence or failure to follow safety rules and guidelines.

  2. Indemnity: Guests are required to sign an indemnity form upon arrival, acknowledging their understanding of the risks associated with outdoor activities, thereby releasing Madikelo Lodge from any liability for personal injury, property damage, or loss of property.

  3. Property damage: Guests are responsible for any damages or losses they cause to the property or equipment during their stay. The Game Reserve reserves the right to bill the guest directly for any damages or losses incurred.

  4. Injury: In the event of an injury to a guest, the guest will be transported to a medical facility for further treatment. The cost of medical treatment will be the responsibility of the guest.

  5. Accidents: In the case of an accident, the guest should report it immediately to the Madikelo Lodge  management.

  6. Lost or stolen items: Madikelo Lodge is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Guests are encouraged to secure their personal belongings and keep valuables in a safe place.

  7. Liability:  Madikelo Lodge will not be held liable for any damages or losses incurred by guests as a result of events beyond its control, such as natural disasters, power outages, or acts of God.

  8. Insurance: Guests are advised to take out personal travel insurance to cover their belongings, personal injury, and any other potential risks associated with their stay.

 

By staying at Madikelo Lodge, guests agree to abide by this policy and accept responsibility for any damages or losses they cause during their stay.

Booking Deposit Policy:

 

  1. Booking confirmation: To confirm a booking at Madikelo Lodge, a 50% deposit is required. This deposit is non-refundable and will be applied towards the total cost of the stay.

  2. Payment methods: Guests can pay their deposit by bank transfer. The deposit payment must be made within 48 hours of booking to secure the reservation.

  3. Cancellation policy: In the event of a cancellation, the deposit will not be refunded. If the guest cancels less than 30 days before the arrival date, they will be responsible for the full cost of their stay.

  4. Changes to bookings: If a guest wants to make changes to their booking, they must notify the lodge at least 30 days in advance. Any changes made within 30 days of the arrival date may result in additional fees or charges.

  5. Balance payment: The balance of the total cost of the stay is due on arrival. Guests can pay by bank transfer or cash.

  6. By making a deposit payment, guests agree to the terms and conditions of this policy and accept the cancellation and change fees outlined above. Madikelo Lodge reserves the right to modify this policy at any time without prior notice.

Additional information, guidelines and regulations:

 

  • Rate per night: R5000. This is a flat rate, regardless of the number of guests.

  • The lodge can accommodate up to 9 guests.

  • The lodge is self-catering. All food and supplies is the responsibility of the guest.

  • Breakfast for guests can be arranged at an additional cost and must be requested in advance to the arrival date of their stay.

  • One bag of “braai” wood will be supplied by the lodge.

  • The lodge makes use of a “donkey” hot water system.

  • Game Drives are available upon request and must be made in advance to ensure vehicle availability.

  • Guests are not allowed to hike or walk along the game trails unsupervised.
